Brief Overview:
            Liberia, located on the coast of West Africa, is the oldest black republic on the continent of Africa.  The country has a tropical climate with two seasons: the rainy season (April - October) and the dry season (November - March).  It is endowed with rich mineral resources of iron ore, diamonds, and gold.
            The civil war that befell Liberia in 1989 (and lasted until 2003) was unprecedented in the history of West Africa.  All Liberians, regardless of economic status, religion, or tribal affiliations were affected by the violence.  Today, about 85% of children in Liberia are without quality care because of lack of assistance.

Goals/Objectives:

1. To provide quality care to those children who have either been physically, emotionally, verbally, or mentally abused or neglected in some manner.
2. To provide sponsorship for quality education, medical and dental care, clothing, etc.
3. To tell the children about Jesus Christ and teach them to set an example in their environment.
4. To provide counseling for the children at their specific homes, various children’s centers, and the church.
5. To teach the message of peace and reconciliation, thus keeping malice out of the lives of the traditional children.
6. To help stimulate the integration of child right facilities within the country.
7. To help look for sponsor(s) to assist in meeting basic physical and spiritual needs of the children in an effort to mold their minds.

Target Beneficiaries:
            Initial target beneficiaries shall range from 75 to 150 war-wearied children who are either without parents, or who have been abused, neglected, homeless, and without Christ.  This program will begin with the members of Abide in the Vine and Christ Is Our Hope.

Budget:
$30 per month USD  (One year commitment, please)
            Tuition                                     35%

            Medical                                   20%
            Clothing/Basic Needs             15%

$50 will buy enough rice for a week

$75 will buy a week of fish

$90 will buy clean water for a week

$100 will buy clothes for 20 children

$200 will buy shoes for everyone

*The child sponsorship program will begin in July.  If you would like to sponsor a child,
you will receive a profile of that child as well as regular updates.  Make checks payable to Bridge of Hope.
