Masterpieces Art Show
We are so very excited to share with you the story of another young person in the One Body One Hope community spending themselves for God's kingdom! Remember last November when friends of OBOH hosted the Fashion for a Passion event? On the way to the event, Sage Hoekstra, a student at Hull Christian School, was challenged by her mother to think about something she could for the people of Liberia. Because of her passion for Abide in the Vine Disciples’ Church and the kids at Christ our Hope alongside enouragement from her family, Sage came up with the idea of hosting art shows to raise money for the orphans and for the churches in Liberia.
Thanks to the hard work of Sage and her family, several Masterpieces art shows are happening around Northwest Iowa this Spring! The Masterpieces Art Shows feature artwork created by students in the One Body One Hope community and are "sold" (freewill donation or silent auction) to raise money for our partner churches and orphanages in Liberia, West Africa. Check out the opportunities to get involved in this fundraiser!
Join us for a Masterpieces Art show!
The entire One Body One Hope community is invited to attend the Masterpieces Art Show and Cook Off at New Life Reformed Church in Sioux Center on April 17. All school-aged children are invited to be part of the art class starting at 3:30pm that afternoon, and after the art class, their art work will be part of the art show and silent auction to raise money for new churches in Liberia. The New Life community will be hosting a pork cook off while the silent auction runs. The bidding on children's artwork ends at 7:00pm. A very special element of this Masterpiece art show is actual artwork from our friends in Liberia! Artwork from children at Christ Our Hope orphanage have arrived from Liberia to be sold at this art show. Join us Friday, April 17 and take home some beautiful artwork lovingly made by our friends in Liberia! (full event details)
“For we are God's masterpiece. He has created us anew in Christ Jesus,
so we can do the good things he planned for us long ago.”
Ephesians 2:10
A big thank you goes out to Sage for acting on the passion God has given her for the children of Abide in the Vine Disciples church and Christ Our Hope in Liberia! Also, thank you to Sage's friends and family for encouraging her in this adventure. Finally, thank you to Unity Christian High School, New Life Reformed Church, and Hull Christian school for hosting these events!
