Empowering future leaders through Christian education in Liberia.

Why Christian Education Matters in Liberia

Education is one of the most powerful tools for rebuilding a nation. In Liberia—one of the poorest countries in the world—many children still lack access to consistent, quality education. A child whose mother can read is far more likely to survive past the age of five, yet access to schooling remains limited for too many.

At One Body One Hope, we believe Covenant Christian Education knows no borders. Through the Vine School System of Christ (VSSC), we’re shaping young minds with a Christ-centered, holistic education that integrates learning, faith, and community.

  • Liberia is one of 10 the poorest countries in the world

  • Just 37% of Liberian children have access to school

  • A child whose mother can read is 50% more likely to survive past the age of 5

  • Over 40 years, equitable access to quality education can help a country raise its gross domestic product per capita by 23%

The Vine School System of Christ (VSSC)

The VSSC network includes 12 schools across Liberia and Sierra Leone, reaching students from preschool through secondary education. These schools are more than classrooms—they are spaces where children are formed in faith, encouraged academically, and supported with daily meals and nurturing care.

We believe a Christian School is a partner with the church and the family, a covenant community living in God’s light generation after generation (Deut. 6:6). Christ is the King of the church, home, and school!

Teacher Sponsorship: Invest in Educators

Liberian teachers face enormous challenges, often working for little or no pay. Through $100/month teacher sponsorships, you ensure that educators in the VSSC system receive a livable wage—and that students receive consistent, high-quality education.

Your gift provides:

  • A stable income for a teacher and their family

  • Ensure the best education is offered at the VSSC schools

  • Help rebuild Liberia through Christ-centered education

  • Make significant kingdom impact

  • Access to professional development through our annual teacher conference, where educators gather to grow, collaborate, and deepen their Christ-centered teaching practices

School Sponsorship: Fuel a Whole Campus

School sponsorship makes it possible to operate an entire school—covering everything from salaries and meals to facilities and materials. With just a few donors, a full school can thrive.

A school sponsorship provides:

  • Supplements teacher salaraies

  • Covers operational needs

  • Maintains the building and grounds

  • Fuels the growth of the school

  • Ensures that the kids who attend get one healthy meal a day

Your school sponsorship dollars go far:

  • $10,000/year operates a preschool-5th grade school

  • $15,000/year operates a preschool-8th grade school

Only 4 of our 12 schools are currently sponsored. Let’s change that—together.

Christ at the Center of Every Subject

Our deep hope is that every child in the VSSC system will grow in wisdom and faith—putting Christ at the center of everything they learn, from science and math to athletics and the arts.

This is education that forms whole people, preparing the next generation to lead with purpose and serve with love.

When you support a teacher or sponsor a school, you’re not just funding education—you’re participating in lasting, generational transformation rooted in faith, dignity, and opportunity.

Let’s raise up a generation of learners and leaders in Liberia.
