The Bridge is Finished

The bridge is FINISHED! Today they will be wrapping things up with some dirt work and rock--and then it's time to test their construction. Looks pretty solid to us. ;-)

Did you know that this project was imagined, planned, and carried out by college students? Someone recently said: "they did it because they didn't know they couldn't do it." Don't you just love that? We can get so caught up in the messy details that a God-sized faith seems not just difficult but downright impossible. "We CAN'T" drowns out the truth that "God CAN." But when we have faith? Mountains move. Or, a senior engineering design project with a budget of a couple hundred dollars becomes a cross-cultural, halfway around the world, community transforming enterprise worth tens of thousands of dollars. "Truly I tell you, if you have faith as small as a mustard seed, you can say to this mountain, ‘Move from here to there,’ and it will move. Nothing will be impossible for you.” (Matthew 17: 20)

To the young men who dared to dream such a big, beautiful, impossible dream: THANK YOU. You have taught us all so much. May you be blessed beyond measure for you are truly a blessing. And thank you,Dordt College, for sharing the rich resource of your incredible students with us.
