Important Announcement
Hi, everyone.
There is so much going on I hardly know where to begin! Our team leaves for Liberia in less than a week and we are busy putting the finishing touches on our trip. Oh, who am I kidding? We're frantically running around like chickens with their heads cut off. At least, I am. But I'm very excited, too, and looking forward to seeing the kids, meeting Emmanuel and Fatu's new baby, delivering all your packages (don't forget to turn them in, sponsor families!) and more. It's an exciting week! Please keep us in your prayers. (I will try to blog while we are in Liberia, so stay tuned!)
Also, we wanted to update you about Eve. As we continue to assess her situation and try to come up with the best course of action for her care, it looks as if we will be pursuing a medical visa. We cannot guarantee anything, but if this works, Eve will be coming to the US for treatment, specifically to the Tri-state, Sioux County area as the hospitals who are considering her case are local. During her stay in the US, Eve will need to be placed in a foster home. One Body One Hope is not a foster care or adoption agency, so we worked with a local agency to come up with a list of requirements for prospective host families so that Eve and our organization will be protected. If you or a family you know are interested in being considered for Eve's host family, please send me an email at: onebodyonehope@gmail.com. I will send you the pdf file containing our requirements. You may then read through them, prayerfully consider whether or not you are being called to apply, complete the application if you feel so led, and send it to OBOH at 589 13th St. Cir. SE, Sioux Center, Iowa 51250. You may also hand your application to an OBOH board member (Grant DeVries, Brent DeJong, Julie Bajema, Aaron or Nicole Baart). Feel free to share this link with other families who may be a good fit. At this time we do not have a deadline for applications, but as the situation may develop quickly and require a fast decision we suggest "the sooner the better." Only serious applications will be considered, and only families with a current home study (foster, domestic, or international) need apply.
Thank you for your continued prayer and support!
Grace and peace,
Nicole
